Heritage Sylvania has multiple sites open to the public. The Historical Village, Cooke-Kuhlman House and Lathrop House are must-see destinations in Northwest Ohio. But the downtown Sylvania area isn’t just for history buffs! Heritage Center Museum/Cooke-Kuhlman Home
The Heritage Center Museum/Cooke- Kuhlman Home located at 5717 Main Street is open most Saturdays from 11:00 - 2:00 and Sundays from 1:00 - 4:00 March through mid-December.  Admission is always free but we always appreciate donations.

Historical Village Buildings
The Village is open to the public for special events throughout the year.  Additionally we are open by reservation for school and adult groups.

The Lathrop House
The Lathrop House, located at 5416 Main Street. The Lathrop House will be open most Sundays starting April 30 from 1:00 until 4:00.  Admission is free but we appreciate donations at the door.

There is no admission charged to visit the Lathrop House, the Historical Village or the Heritage Center Museum during regular open hours. We do accept free will donations at the door.

The Archives  

Our archives are a rich treasure trove of local history.  You can arrange a visit to view the collections by contacting us through email us through our contact form or call 419-517-5533.


Directions

The Historical Village is located on Main Street behind Element 112 Restaurant a few hundred feet north of the intersection of North Main Street and Maplewood in downtown Sylvania.

The Heritage Center Museum, Heritage Sylvania Main Office and archives are located at 5717 Main Street directly across from Reeb Funeral Home.

The Lathrop House is located in Harroun Park on Main Street, just south of the intersection of Main Street and Monroe Street.  Enter the parking lot for Harroun Park directly across from St. Joseph Catholic Church.  The House is located at the far end of the parking lot.


Parking and accessibility

There is free parking in the south side lot in front of the Historical Village. Free parking is also available in the shopping district south of Maplewood and along Main Street.

Free parking is available at the Lathrop House.

Much of the village terrain is relatively flat with paved walkways and most buildings are accessible to wheelchairs.  The first floor of the Heritage Center Museum/Cooke-Kuhlman House and the main exhibit space in the Lathrop House are wheelchair accessible.
