For the third year in a row, our largest fundraiser of the year “Deck the Halls for History” will coincide with the Sylvania Miracle on Main Street Holiday event. The dates are Friday and Saturday December 7 and 8.
“Deck the Halls for History has become a great way for the community to get involved with our educational programming. The support we have received from area businesses is amazing! Their donations of decorations, products and services for our auction are always extraordinary which in turn provides our bidders a wide variety of great items to bid on. It’s a super fun way to do some shopping for unique gifts and at the same time leave with the great feeling of knowing you helped to support thousands of school children having fun and learning at the Village. It truly is a holiday win – win” explains Andi Erbskorn, Director.
All items will be on display in the Heritage Center Museum throughout the Miracle on Main Street event. Guests will have a chance to bid on items during the silent auction. Items in the past have included unique handmade holiday decorations, gift cards and gift baskets from local businesses. All proceeds go to help offset costs of student field trip programs.
"The Sylvania Historical Village is an exciting experience that takes our 4th graders back to life in the 1800s. The lessons and activities address many of our State Standards for Social Studies in a meaningful way for our students. Our students love the hands on and hearing stories from long ago! The Sylvania Historical Village is a treasure for our schools and community." Arleen Hatcher - 4th grade teacher - Sylvan Elementary
The auction will be open for bidding Friday December 7 from 5 until 8 PM and Saturday December 8 from 12:00 until 6:00 PM
